Jireh Services began in 1979 as the Simmons House, a
residential facility for mentally retarded and
developmentally disabled adults.
From 1979 until 1995, the agency provided appropriate,
caring group home services to women in Franklin County. The
need for more expansive, supportive services became apparent
in the early 1990s. The evolution of the Simmons House to
Jireh Services began in 1994 when the agency was
incorporated as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization.
Subsequently the name was changed, the mission revised, and
the agency’s programs were redesigned to incorporate a
strong philosophy of consumer choice and individualized
services.
Jireh Services is a non-profit developer of multi-family
housing and a provider of supportive services to help insure
that residents have the opportunity to live full, rich,
independent lives.
In the ensuing eight years, Jireh Services has developed,
constructed, and managed nine supportive living homes in
Franklin County. The latest of which were completed and
opened for services on April 5, 2002.
Our services include a full range of programs directed at
fulfilling the needs of each person.
Individual Service Plans are created that include specific
